Localcities the new digitalisation partner to the Swiss Gymnastics Federation
Media release - 02.08.2022
Localcities will be the first digitalisation partner to the Swiss Gymnastics Federation. The largest digital platform for municipalities and clubs and the governing body of Swiss gymnastics have entered into a partnership agreement running for three years to the middle of 2025.
The Swiss Gymnastics Federation (SGF) and Localcities are joining forces. As digitalisation partner, Switzerland’s largest digital platform for municipalities and clubs will support the SGF to develop and expand its online services. The nearly 3,000 gymnastics clubs that make up the SGF will be able to enjoy the attractive platform and special offers from Localcities.
The SGF and Localcities have signed a three-year agreement running to the middle of 2025, with the aim of building up a long-term partnership. «We are delighted about the partnership with Localcities. Both our organisations have a strong tradition in Switzerland with deep roots in municipalities and gymnastics clubs», says Fabio Corti, Central President of the SGF, about the new partnership. Béatrice Wertli, Director of the SGF, is also looking forward to the cooperation: «Digitalisation is a major priority for the SGF. That’s why it is very valuable for us to be able to benefit from the great expertise and experience Localcities has in this area.»
Localcities offers a free digital presence to every club in Switzerland
On its digital platform, Localcities reliably aggregates all relevant information from Swiss municipalities and clubs to improve the way people, municipalities and regions interact. Clubs can post their own club profile on Localcities free of charge, publicise their events and reach potential members directly in 2,148 municipalities. Anyone who is also interested in the Localcities website solution and opts for the Localclubs club management software will get a full digital package that makes publicising and running a club easy and efficient. Clubs with fewer than 100 members can use Localclubs for free.
Swisscom subsidiary localsearch is the architect behind Localcities. «We have a heart for each individual municipality and each individual club, because we are aware of how important they are for living together in Switzerland. People are already very digitally active and clubs still have a great deal of untapped potential in that respect. We want to use our experience to support clubs as they digitalise and help them achieve digital success. We are delighted that the SGF, the cornerstone of gymnastics, shares this vision with us», says Stefano Santinelli, CEO of localsearch.
The Swiss Gymnastics Federation
The SGF is the governing body of Swiss gymnastics and its 360,000 members make it the largest multi-sport sports association in Switzerland. The SGF and its gymnastics clubs promote competitive sport and offer people a wide range of sports for fitness and health. The SGF also represents its members’ interests in dealings with sports, political and business bodies, in line with its mission: «We make it possible for everyone in Switzerland to experience sport and activity as a way of creating community and well-being.»
